Covenant Outreach Through Advocacy and Agency Networking (COTAAN) was born out of a desire to meet the needs of women and girls returning home from incarceration.
It has been our observation that minimal resources are available for women returning citizens. Our prayer is that the COTAAN Ministry will help to ease the turmoil brought about by the uncertainties facing many women re-entering society.
Although COTAAN was established nearly four years ago, this ministry is still a "work in progress." We do not claim to have all of the answers, however, we are working diligently to build a ministry that will connect COTAAN participants with practical support as they strive to begin anew.
In the coming months we plan to hold several volunteer meetings, host workshops with relevant information for returning citizens, connect with community agencies to offer Bible studies and referral services to returning citizens and of course, spiritual support for those who desire to connect with a church home.
We are most grateful for the support of all of our partners, particularly American Baptist Women's Ministries and ABC National World Relief Ministries, One Great Hour of Sharing, for their financial grants that made COTAAN possible.
We are also grateful for all of our COTAAN volunteers that help to make the work of this ministry possible.
Visit "What's New With COTAAN," to read about our most recent venture, partnering with our friends at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C), W.I.T Program (Women in Transition) for our first "Re-Entry Fair for Women," held on June 20th, 2014.
If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering or participating in the COTAAN Ministry, please give us a call at (216) 303-9790. We will get back in touch with you within 2-3 business days.
May we strive as a community to work together to make "a soft landing for those coming from a hard start!"
Yours in Christ's Kingdom Building Service,
Pastor Chris Smith,
Executive Director, COTAAN Ministry
